Arrest Made in Chennai for Inciting Religious Disharmony Through Social Media Video

The Central Crime Branch of the Chennai City Police has apprehended a 31-year-old individual for posting a video on social media with the intent to create disharmony against a religious community. The Cyber Crime police initiated the arrest after a case was filed based on the video titled ‘I’m Declaring War,’ which aimed to foment religious enmity between two communities.

The accused, identified as M. Muhammed Suhail, residing in Meenakshi Nagar, Pallavaram, was arrested, and his mobile phone, used for posting the video, was seized. Following the arrest, Suhail was presented before a judicial magistrate and subsequently sent to prison, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to curbing activities that fuel religious tension through online platforms.
