Bhuvneshwar Leads Purple Cap Standings in IPL 2026

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar remains at the top of the IPL 2026 Purple Cap standings after a recent match. He took two wickets and conceded 38 runs in four overs against Punjab Kings, bringing his total to 24 wickets from 13 matches. His performance helped RCB secure a playoff spot with a 23-run win.

In another Sunday game, Rajasthan Royals (RR) speedster Jofra Archer also claimed two wickets for 35 runs in four overs. However, his efforts weren’t enough as Delhi Capitals won by five wickets. Archer now has 17 wickets from 12 matches and sits in fourth place.

Gujarat Titans’ Kagiso Rabada is second with 21 wickets, while Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj is third with 19 wickets from 12 games. Lucknow Super Giants’ Prince Yadav rounds out the top five with 16 wickets from 12 matches.

The middle of the standings is tight, with Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan and Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Kartik Tyagi both on 16 wickets. Eshan Malinga, Mohammed Siraj, and Jamie Overton complete the top ten.

Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna led the Purple Cap in IPL 2025 with 25 wickets, but this season he has taken only 14 from eight matches. If Bhuvneshwar wins the cap again, he will become the first bowler to win it three times. He previously won it in 2016 and 2017.

Other multiple winners include Dwayne Bravo (twice) and Harshal Patel, who share records for most wickets in a single IPL season. Notable past winners also include Kagiso Rabada (2020), Yuzvendra Chahal (2022), and Mohammed Shami (2023).
