Economic Offences Wing Arrests Couple for Alleged Financial Fraud

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Tamil Nadu police apprehended a couple allegedly involved in the activities of Hijau Associates Private Limited, accused of defrauding over 14,126 depositors of ₹1,650 crore. The couple, identified as Brija, 46, and Madhusudhanan, 53, served as committee members of the finance firm and had been evading authorities in Kerala for the past 18 months.

Operating a subsidiary called ‘APM Agro’ in Shenoy Nagar, they reportedly amassed ₹90 crore from 2,500 depositors. The arrests mark another step in the ongoing investigation into the fraudulent activities of Hijau Associates, following previous arrests in 2022.
