Pakistan’s Razaullah Breaks Records in Third Test

Pakistan’s No. 9 batter Razaullah produced a remarkable performance on the third day of the third Test against England at Edgbaston. Coming in when Pakistan were struggling at 318/8, the young batter played an aggressive innings of 81 runs from just 63 balls, helping Pakistan post 449 in their second innings and take a 129-run lead.

Razaullah attacked the England bowlers from the moment he arrived at the crease. His innings included four fours and nine sixes, with the nine sixes matching Ben Stokes’ record from the 2023 Ashes. He also became the youngest player to hit nine sixes on Test debut, matching Tim Southee’s achievement.

The youngster also created a Pakistan record by scoring the fastest half-century by a debutant, reaching his fifty in only 43 balls. His fearless approach changed the momentum of the innings and put England under considerable pressure.

Razaullah formed an outstanding 121-run ninth-wicket partnership with Mohammad Abbas. It was Pakistan’s highest ninth-wicket stand since 1984. Together, they took Pakistan from 318/8 to 439/9, rescuing the innings and giving their team a strong advantage.

His impressive contribution ended in the final over when he was dismissed for 81 by Jordan Cox. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 449, leaving England with a target of 130 runs to win the Test.

Razaullah had already made an impact with the ball earlier in the match, taking four wickets, including the important wicket of Joe Root. His combination of wicket-taking bowling and explosive batting made his debut particularly memorable.

With 81 runs, nine sixes, a record-breaking half-century and four wickets, Razaullah delivered an extraordinary all-round performance and played a major role in putting Pakistan in a strong position to claim victory.
