Security Overhaul Ahead of CM Naidu’s Kuppam Visit Sparks Speculation

Ahead of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s two-day visit to Kuppam, a significant reshuffling of police personnel has raised eyebrows within the force and the TDP cadre. The Deputy Inspector General (Anantapur Range) reassigned four Sub-Inspectors and two Circle Inspectors from the Kuppam region to the Vacancy Reserve, amid preparations for the CM’s inspection of the HNSS project and meetings with party leaders.

This move, reminiscent of the violent clashes during Naidu’s 2023 visit to Ramakuppam, has prompted speculation of further similar actions. Naidu’s visit, set against the backdrop of controversy surrounding the HNSS canal project, promises to address critical local issues and past political tensions, especially following a contentious halt of water release earlier this year.
