Tamil Nadu CM Announces New Assembly-Secretariat Complex
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced plans on Thursday, September 3, 2026, to construct a new Assembly-cum-Secretariat complex in Chennai. The project is expected to cost around ₹1,200 crore and will provide a modern administrative centre for the state government.
The Chief Minister made the announcement during a Rule 110 session in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He said the proposed complex would bring different state government departments together under one integrated facility.

Another major proposal is the creation of a Motor Sports City in Chennai. The project will focus on motorsports and is expected to provide dedicated facilities for racing and related activities.
