In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, a 24-year-old Dalit man, Kamlesh, was fatally thrashed with sticks by several individuals for reportedly drinking water from a public tap. The assault, led by Suraj Rathore and accomplices in Sathra village, occurred on Monday night. Kamlesh was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
The police have arrested Rathore, and an FIR has been filed based on the victim’s father Jagdish’s complaint.
