Heavy Rainfall Predicted Across Karnataka, Including Bengaluru, Until September 12

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in various parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, until September 12. Yellow alerts have been issued for coastal districts such as Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi, along with several North Karnataka districts like Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, and Kodagu.

The South interior districts, including Bengaluru Rural and Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Bellary, Vijayanagar, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagar, Shivamogga, and Tumakuru, are expected to receive substantial rainfall. On the other hand, north interior Karnataka districts like Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Yadgir, and Vijayapura will experience comparatively less rainfall.

Coastal Karnataka and some north interior districts are also likely to witness rain accompanied by lightning and thunder. The rainfall has already transformed Bengaluru into a hill station with cloudy skies and drizzles, leading to waterlogging on important roads like Bengaluru-Bannerghatta Road, causing inconvenience to commuters.
