Indian Team Wins Gold in Asian Games Pistol Event

India won its second gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet produced a strong performance in the mixed team 10m air pistol event on Friday.

The Indian pair finished with a total score of 484.6 points to take the gold medal. South Korea finished second with 478 points and won the silver medal, while Iran secured bronze with a score of 415.8 points.

Suruchi and Kamaljeet remained composed throughout the competition and delivered a strong performance in the shooting event. Their victory gave India another major medal in the ongoing Asian Games.

With the gold medal, India’s overall medal tally has reached 19 medals, including two golds, eight silvers and nine bronze medals. India is currently placed 12th in the overall medals table.

The result adds to India’s medal haul in Aichi-Nagoya and provides further momentum to the country’s campaign at the Games. Indian athletes will now look to add more medals as competitions continue across different sporting disciplines.

The mixed team 10m air pistol gold also highlights India’s growing strength in shooting, which has regularly contributed medals for the country at major international sporting events.
