Ex-Employee of Gem Granites Arrested for Withholding Child Abuse Video

The Central Crime Branch has arrested a former employee of Gem Granites in connection with an investigation involving industrialist R. Veeramani. Police allege that the former employee had a video on his mobile phone that showed Veeramani allegedly engaging in an inappropriate act involving a minor girl.

According to the police, the employee did not report the video or bring it to the authorities’ attention. Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding the video and how it came into the former employee’s possession.

Veeramani, the founder of Gem Granites, along with two other people, was arrested earlier this year in connection with allegations involving a minor. The accused are currently lodged at Puzhal Central Prison and face charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The investigation has continued to expand as more people have reportedly approached the police and provided statements concerning the case. Police also identified another survivor, whose statement and information are being examined as part of the investigation.

The arrested person has been identified as Ganeshan, a former employee of Veeramani. He reportedly worked at Gem Granites for around 23 years and is currently employed by Balaji Global Enterprises.

Police arrested Ganeshan after allegedly finding that the video was stored on his phone. He was subsequently produced before a court, where the judge ordered that he be sent to prison.

Investigators are now focusing on two key questions: how Ganeshan obtained the video and why he did not report it to the police. These details could help investigators understand how the material came into his possession and whether there were any other circumstances surrounding it.

The Central Crime Branch is continuing its investigation, while the allegations against Veeramani and the other accused remain subject to the ongoing legal proceedings.
