Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Talks with Kuwait, Egypt, and Turkey

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has held separate phone calls with the foreign ministers of Kuwait, Egypt and Türkiye to discuss the latest developments in the region and efforts to reduce rising tensions.

According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry, Prince Faisal spoke with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The discussions focused on regional developments and joint diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and support regional security and stability.

The talks come as Saudi Arabia faces continuing attacks and military tensions involving Yemen’s Houthi group. The Houthis have claimed attacks against targets inside Saudi Arabia, while reports have also carried Houthi allegations of Saudi airstrikes in Yemen. These claims are part of the ongoing conflict and could not be independently verified in all cases.

The Saudi government has been calling for efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading and to protect regional security. Prince Faisal has also stressed the importance of respecting state sovereignty, international law and the safety of international waterways amid the wider regional crisis.
